THE U.S. SENATE HAS DECLARED A MENTAL HEALTH EMERGENCY
BUT BEYOND A DECLARATION, WE NEED ACTION
Our S.R. 769 was recently unanimously passed by the U.S. Senate. This resolution declares a youth mental health crisis in the United States. While recognizing the crisis is an appreciated first step, we urge our representatives to commit their words to action and pass tangible policy that strengthens mental health support systems for young people and invests in the priorities underscored within this resolution.
READ AND SIGN OUR CALL TO ACTION
We welcome individuals with lived experience, young advocates, allies, and organizations to sign our call to action and/or provide a personal testimonial urging diverse, comprehensive action for mental health. We reject the pervasive notion of pity towards this emergency that continues to dilute tangible policymaking. Acknowledgement has not been and is not enough.
